    Surround Sound Headphones - Recommendations?

I'm considering a pair of surround sound headphones for gaming, but I'm not sure about what to look for, or even if they are worth it.

Has anyone tried them and liked them? Do they work?

    Recommendations gratefully received.

    Budget is around $150.

Go to the store and give all of them a test drive.

Not really practical in my case. I live in a location with very few computer/electronics stores. Add to that the difficulty of getting some lazy salesperson to hook up a pair, even if I do wear a short skirt and show a little leg...

I will refrain from commenting due to the fact that my mind easily slides into the gutter.

Brian please keep us informed on how well the new headset works including any driver problems.

My neighbors are complaining my sound is to high. My new hearing aids (if they ever get here) might solve my neighbor problem. I can just turn the sound level down. But I'm still interested in quality wireless headset for watching movies. Hell maybe someday I will start playing games other than chess. Their is no sound problem playing chess.

Jack, I picked up a great set of wireless headphones from Costco last year. They are Sony MDR-RF985RK models (Though you really have to look hard at the box to find the model number). They are wonderful. They're light and comfy, and I can get all over the house in them, and a charge lasts for almost a week of occasional viewing for me. Great for watching TV late at night without disturbing anyone. They don't have a microphone or surround sound though, but they sure do sound good.

They were only $90 CDN, so probably $70 (or less) in your neck of the woods.

I like the reviews on the Corsair headsets, and I have used other Corsair products and been very happy with them. I noticed these when I was snooping for the new Void stuff from Corsair:

Corsair Gaming H1500 Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset USB Connector w/ Noise Cancelling Mic - CA-9011128-NA

But the Void ones are only $20 more...

Corsair Void USB Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset - CA-9011130-NA

And the H2100's are only $10 more:

Corsair Gaming H2100 Wireless Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset w/ Noise Cancelling Microphone - Grey - CA-9011136-NA

    Decisions, decisions...

I'm not really fond of wireless, but the 2100's are an excellent price.

    Thoughts?

Well, I read the reviews and I bought these:

Corsair Void USB Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset - CA-9011130-NA

Many thanks to AddRAM for the suggestion. :)

I should have them in a few days. I'll post here and let you know how good they are (or they aren't).
