How do I fix having no sound in my browsers?

I tried everything i could find on google and reddit and nothing worked. checked the sound bar, reinstalled flash, system restored, restarted my browser, refreshed the page, disabled and enabled the flash plug-in and nothing fixed it. Actually, when I messed with the flash plug-in SOME youtube videos worked but others didn't. I messed with it again Now none work, was enabling and disabling it, I think it worked for some videos only when disabled. Do some youtube videos work differently? When searching on Google I also found something about changing my realtek settings from 7.1 to stereo or something, how do I do that (if that would fix it)?

P.S. I have firefox and chrome (I mostly use Chrome) and sound works on my PC, just doesn't work in my browsers.

With regular PC sound working, it says the PC sound is not the problem. The problem is application software or browsers.

Try using Internet Explorer and see if it works there. Reposting in browser section of the forum may be more applicable.

You change it by going here, right click on the sound icon in the taskbar.
