Desktop pc Speaker Suggestions ?
Hi,
Want to purchase a pair of "small" desktop speakers for my desktop pc. One to go on each side of monitor. Don't want a woofer. But, am hard of hearing, so would need something with a decent amount of volume. This is an important requirement. Not sure if this eliminates all of the USB powered ones, or not ? Would like to keep the cost at $ 35 or so, max. Looked at all the reviews in Amazon, and you can really go crazy. Sure are a lot of offerings in this price range, and below. Seems like all of the reviews always have about 15 % or so that don't like what they bought. Have always gotten very good advice here. So, may I please ask: What do you like, and what would be your suggestion as to what to purchase ? Happy Holidays, and thanks, Bob |

I doubt anyone can suggest a speaker system for you. It may fall in the 15% for you too.
It's $30 or $40 and with Amazon most can be returned with an RA from sender and paid shipping. I never had a prob with Amazon dealers if not satisfied or didn't work or such. The ones I'm looking at, and there are a ton of them, all have at least 4 star ratings. Just get the wattage you think you need and go for it. Heck, drop a hundred bucks and get Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speakers I have these and they're great. (Or go to ebay and take a chance on used but cheap ones.) You can't go wrong with that. ![]() you pay for the name and advertisements - yada yada yada) Good luck. ![]() |

I wont be using them for music or any serious audio adventures. Just want something... |

Does anyone know how to go one step further and create a desktop shortcut (or hotkey) to the speaker setup page where you choose your audio channels? (ie/ where you choose between Stereo, 5.1 Surround, 7.1 Surround, etc.) It's one click after getting to the Playback page. After getting to the... |
