No sounds form speakers. Audio jack works fine.

    Sorry for the delay in replying

    The diagnosis was spot on. The 'enthusiastic amateur' (the one before me that is ) who took it apart forgot to plug the speaker cable into the mobo. 22 screws and one 'plug in' later everything works fine - and I didn't even have a screw left over
