Place Sound Icon On Start Menu

How can I put an icon for Control Panel > Sound on the Start menu?
Also, what is the name of the exe file which runs Sound? If I knew that I could make a keyboard shortcut for it.

Open control panel and select large icons,

arrange so hat you can see the desktop

Drag the sound entry (speaker icon) onto the desktop

This will create a short-cut to the sound control

You can drag this shortcut onto the start menu (or the taskbar it think)

Just checked this in Windows Ten and although it works it's only available on the desktop. If you have similar issues on the start menu right click on any item and choose Open All Users or Users if you only want this for your user and drag the folder into a folder (the start menu is nothing more than a set of folder trees) for a keyboard short cut you can move or copy the short cut somewhere safe and use this location as the location for your KB short cut)

What happens if you drag it to the start orb I'm sure that used to work

Did you try the second method I suggested?

This Tutorial by Brink, explains things better than I can

Start Menu All Programs - Add or Delete Shortcuts

If you prefer it on the taskbar you could adapt this tutorial

Recycle Bin - Pin to Taskbar

I've also just found this one which may do more what you want

You need to drag it and hold it over start orb for a moment then the start menu should open.
