Gigaware usb speakers muting sound after unplugging

Anyone else have a problem with Gigaware usb speakers muting the computer after they are unplugged? This requires a restart to get the sound back. Dell Inspiron N4110, SSD. Thanks!

Apparently the USB speakers are not being released by the PC.
Next time you want to remove the speakers, check the "Safely Remove Hardware" function (icon in lower right area) to see if its listed. If it is use that function to "remove" them BEFORE disconnecting.

Otherwise you can go to the Sound Panel, Playback section and manually change the default playback device back to the "Speakers".
