Sound Distortion - Dell Laptop (Maybe others too)

From Google, the sound distortion appears to be worldwide and has been around for a long time - but Dell tech support appears they know nothing about it. I'm using Windows 7 SP-1. The distortion will stop if I reboot. Without rebooting, the distortion returns anywhere within a few hours to a few days and, as time goes on, the distortion gets much worse. If you have any ideas on how to fix this issue, I will provide as many other particulars about my computer and software as you need. If there is no known solution, I believe a class action suit may be warranted. Thank you in advance.

What model Dell Laptop? Can't offer any suggestions or advice without it.

I worked the Dell forums for 10 years, I've never heard of a Dell audio distortion problem with "All" of them.
I've never seen a post, on here before, about a global problem and I've been here for several years.

    Sound Distortion Dell Laptop

I'm using an M 6800 Workstation, Window 7 SP-1. As for your comment about never hearing about this issue, just Google the key words: dell laptop sound distortion. You could also Google some other similar words and come up with the same issue. Now, I won't insult you - but the issue exists in large numbers - enough so that Dell should be looking for a solution. Can you help?

I can google any brand and get some hits. We have posts on here of clicks and pops, which had been a frequent problem. But nothing that says ALL laptops from any brand ALL have the exact same distortion problems.

What kind of distortion are you hearing? Does it happen only with on-line audio? Does it happen with audio, such as a sound file that is on the hard drive? The problems I've worked on here all have to be handled individually as in most cases its not the exact same problem and the exact same reason on ALL.

Nisko I do have a question.
Did all those post you found on the net about your problem give any help on solving your problem? I'm thinking not.

I would suggest following Jack's (fireberd) posts and let see if he can help.
Jack does help fix most sound problems members have. If I had to guess Jack is in the 90% get sound problems fixed. I watch most if not all of Jacks posts with sound problems.

I have found if a member works with Jack he will work with them.

I will go back to watching this thread.

Well I'm sure we can't help without some sort of response from the OP.

I believe if the questions in your post #4 were answered it would be very helpful.
