    Win7 64bit Ult - Audio Stuttering

I recently performed a full reinstall of windows 7 after getting a registry error bsod that I was unable to fix. So far everything works perfectly except for the sound. I'm experiencing severe audio stuttering on almost all applications, both streamed and downloaded audio/video.

I run a 12 ft 3.8mm audio cable to my speaker set and use an hdmi cable to dual screen to my tv, but the tv doesn't play audio. I'm pretty sure that this isn't loss due to cable length, or connection, since I get it when I use my headphones directly to my tower.

I've tried updating my audio drivers but device manager says they are up to date, and since I don't have a sound card, my motherboard's company (Gigabyte) doesn't supply them. I updated Realtek but the issue remained.
The relevant audio drivers are: AMD High Definition Audio Device and Realtek High Defintion Audio

If anyone has any clue what the cause may be, I would be so grateful. The stuttering is driving me insane.

    Specs:
    Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3
    HIS Radeo R9 285
    Corsair Vengenace 2x8GB
    AMD FX-4300 Vishera Quad 3.8GHz

If you do a search on this forum section you will find many posts on stuttering. Unfortunately there is no "one fix" for this.
One issue is the sound is on a shared Interrupt (IRQ) with a higher priority device and the higher priority device may be "interrupting" the sound causing the stuttering. If this is the case, SOMETIMES, uninstalling the sound in the Device Manger then restarting Windows and Windows will put it on a different shared IRQ and fix or minimize the stuttering.

Other known causes are Wi-Fi, old video and sound drivers. As you have reinstalled, possibly you are using old driver versions?

HDMI audio is separate from regular PC audio. The HDMI audio is generated by a sound chip in the Video Card.
