Headset mic working but its speakers working.

Basically yesterday I replugged my headset in and all of a sudden no sound started coming through but the mic still worked, people could hear me. So I decided to see if the actual headset was broken in Hardware and Sound in the control panel but the sound bars of the headset rise accordingly to my music. It's as if my headset if working but its disabled. I'm not too sure what to do at this point.

Sounds like something has happened to the headset, based on what you report.
What type of headset is this? USB? or does it have a 3.5mm stereo plug(s)?

Can you try it on a different PC to see if it works OK or not?

When you say the sound bars of the headset, do you mean the output levels? Assuming your drivers are up to date, it would seem to suggest it's detected your device as an audio output (as well as merely an input, because the microphone still works I mean). In that case it's probably a hardware fault. Sorry if this sounds way too obvious, but does your headset itself have an independent gain control or mute button? Could be that your PC is outputting the signal, but the headphones aren't amplifying that signal enough. Otherwise, it could be the headphone drivers or some other physical fault with the headphone.
