Sound Drivers for Win7 on Acer Veriton 5800

I just tried putting Win7 on this old Veriton and it seems alright except no sound.

Dxdiag reports no audio drivers at all.

What options do I have? Any drivers for these old Veritons? That's a G945 board. All G945's would use the same win7 driver, would they? Are there any?

Otherwise I have to add in a sound card? Or an audio dongle these days?

Can't go to Win10, I suppose. That would be even worse wouldn't it? Yet more modern, leaving this old machine way behind? If there's no win7 drivers for it there wouldn't be win10 drivers would there?

I haven't researched this PC, but most PC's designed for XP and only XP sound drivers will not work in Vista/Win 7 as Microsoft changed the way sound was handled in Vista and thus a new driver was required. In most cases it will require installing a separate sound card (or using a USB connected sound card) to have audio.

To answer your question, if there are no Win 7 drivers most likely no Win 10 drivers. Win 8.1/Win 10 require even different sound drivers as the Vista/Win 7 sound drivers are not compatible and many other drivers may not be available.
