Now I would if it were me update the ones in red my pic and see if there is any improvement in the machine. There are what looks to me like some duplicate ones there and I am not real sure of what they are about. The ones outlined in blue would be another try afterwards.

I thought there was certain to be an audio one there but not

Just one thing when the Intel ones are to be downloaded their site has a distinctive picture of I think it is of a road on it and has the Intel signage on it - if it hasn't then I would not download it.

Iinstalled the first 2 drivers you outlined in red, then after rebooting when I scanned with Slimdrivers it now only shows one update.

    Strange.

Yes well that probably is because you have got the right drivers installed now and the others I did not outline could be covered by the ones installed. That is not an unusual thing to happen so no worries.

Now I would either install that last driver or mark it as ignore - personally I would install it and then run another scan. If there are no more drivers come up after that then you can go ahead and uninstall the Slim Drivers.

I had the same problem with Win7 and Skullcandy Ink'd wireless earbuds plus an Insignia Bluetooth dongle purchased at Best Buy. The real problem is that it's not enough just to install a driver for the Bluetooth dongle (which may happen automatically through Windows Update when you plug it in). You also need to install Bluetooth profiles that to do things like A2DP audio encoding which is what makes a bluetooth headset play audio from the computer. Without the Bluetooth profiles, when I paired a new Skullcandy Ink'd headset, it showed up as a headset with four "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" features that did nothing. It did not show up as a device capable of playing sound or doing anything else.

A lot of Bluetooth dongles contain a Broadcom chip and Broadcom used to host an installer that would install a driver for their bluetooth dongle, but it would also install something called "WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software" that includes Bluetooth profiles. Broadcom stopped hosting this installer around Dec 2016.

There are lots of places you can find old versions of Broadcom's installer that will install WIDCOMM, but old versions would not work with my Bluetooth 4.0 dongle. The latest versions compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 dongles were released in 2015 and can be found hosted here. Comments have links to some other sources like here and here.
