Hello!
For some reason my computer doesn't notice when my headset is in and I won't get any sound from them either. I don't know how long I have had this problem, I've tried to use the control panel go to sound and record to see if the icon is there and right click to show if it's hidden but it doesn't show up. I don't know what else to do, does any of you here have a solution?

Has this ever worked? Two possibilities come to mind. (1) a problem with the case front panel jacks (2) connection from the front panel to the Audio header on the motherboard. Also use the "HD Audio" front panel connection rather than the AC97 if you happen to have both.
Also, connect the headset to the rear I/O panel jacks to make sure the headset is good. Green for the headset and Pink if you also have a mic.
What do you show in the Device Manager for the Sound?
See mine for example, I have Realtek. Disregard the Tranzport entries, that is a controller for my recording studio. The AMD is for HDMI audio.
This, I don't have Realtek though I remember I used to have it but not anymore for some reason. I did try to download it yesterday though but after the installation and had to restart my computer I tried to insert the headset and all that but it didn't work and it made my computer's booting time slower so I uninstalled it...

Getting the correct hardware driver (Realtek?) installed is the first step. You have the generic, basic function, Windows installed "High Definition Audio" now and could be one reason the headset is not working. This may not be the only problem but getting the correct audio driver is needed. It should not cause slowdowns (Realtek is the most often used sound and not causing problems). I have a system (ASUS motherboard) with an i7 6700K and Realtek, although I now have Windows 10 and not Windows 7. Check the Gigabyte motherboard site for a Windows 7 driver for your specific motherboard.
