    hdmi icon gone

hi guys i have come to you every time i have a win7 problem and you have never failed , many thanks.my problem that i have has made me do some scanning the web for solutions and come back with a full re install which is drastic for such a small thing when everything else is running fine. if i click on control panel and click sound the hdmi icon would appear , so i can play the sound through the hdmi socket via cable which is connected, even if it wasnt connected it always showed as an option but didnt light up until connected now the whole icon is gone with or without the cable being connected.would any of you guys have an idea how i can get this option back without a system re install.
many thanks in advance i know you wont let me down as you havent yet.have a good weekend..all the best jim

Normally, the HDMI is provided by the Video/drivers. First thought, reinstall the video drivers.

Not much listed in System Spec's so I can't say what video you have, e.g. AMD or NVIDIA

If you know what your have, you can go direct the NVIDIA or AMD Radeon site and download updates directly.
Download and run the free Speccy and it will profile your PC and list what you have.

    Hi,

the standard MS drivers cover these, see screenshot
you should have sound drivers in device manager, same as in Sound >> Playback tab.
    1) s/pdif 2) hdmi
