    cannot hear sound

My volume just stopped suddenly here is what I get from the computer

The AMD HDMI Output is not plugged in but the device status is this device is working properly in the general box. In the drive box I can only see driver details, I cannot update driver, roll back driver, disable or uninstall.

I have tried everything I can think of to fix it but failed, Here are the stuff I tried

    1) troubleshooting, says it cannot find a problem

    2) from the troubleshooting I went to explore additional option then went to recovery that gave no solution

    3) Device manager/ right click on AMD high definition audio device then clicked update driver software and restarted that did nothing

    4) device manager/ right click on amd high definition audio device then clicked disabled and then clicked enable that did nothing

    5) instead of disable in 4 I clicked uninstall and then restart thinking that will reinstall it but that turned up nothing

    6) checked all the plugs and they are all connected

    7) used recovery manager and that did nothing

Is there anyway to fix this?

The AMD High Definition Audio is ONLY for HDMI audio, its not the usual PC audio.

Your PC audio is another device, such as Realtek, Conexent, etc. In the device manager either the hardware as noted or possible just "High Definition Audio" is listed (not AMD High Definition) On the Sound Playback Panel, "Speakers" is your PC sound device and what should be selected as the default audio playback device, assuming its there. Not enough system specs so we can't try to figure out what you should have.

As fireberd has pointed out, if you had your system specs up to date then it will make it much easier to help you! Your system specifications are in your UserCP > Edit System Spec setup.

The tutorial below [Published by Brink and written by CyberZeus] let's you easily see all of your system information, along with the option of making filling out your system specifications here at Seven Forums easier.

How to See Your System Specs with "System Info"

    I hope this helps!

That is wiered I clicked post reply and the reply was not posted, I did that Info thing so some of the info is on here, I could not figure out the manual part though, But how do I get more audio options on playback list like Realtek, Conexent, etc ?

The only thing listed on device manager is sound, video and game controllers, then clicking on that only give me amd high definition audio device there are no other audio devices listed, how would I add more?

According to an internet search this has Realtek ALC888S – High Definition

Did the PC sound work OK before? or has it never worked

Check the BIOS to see if the sound is accidentally disabled. If its disabled in the BIOS then Windows will not see/detect it.

Do you have a System Restore point that is BEFORE the problem? If you do try that.

Not sure how to access the BIOS, some systems its F2 at boot, some F8, some DEL, etc. Your screen should show what key when you first boot up. Could be labeled, sound, legacy sound, etc in the BIOS.

Just trying to install the driver will not work, Windows has to "see" the device first.
