The mobo manufacturers are supplying the win 7 drivers for their mobos. They can't supply the drivers for graphics cards or cpu - that is up to Intel,Amd, etc to do. How much MS are leaning on them, I don't know.

It looks like those new 310 mobos will be fine for win 7, though maybe only with graphics cards that have win7 drivers.

Thanks SIW2. Will need a bit of time to digest these.

Meanwhile, was given a set of drivers after much begging that did not have the audio hardware id 280B excised. Actually, the solution has been staring straight in my face all along. These 3164 audio drives are included in the 4508 gigabyte package that you had requested. Well done Gigabyte and John.

Did try to modify the IntcDaud.inf but failed to get the 3200 drivers installed. Perhaps you'd have better luck with that. Or perhaps version 3164 are indeed the last that will work with Kaby Lake in w7.

    Many thanks and best regards.

    1. For those who need it, here's the link to Gigabyte 4508 w7 graphics package courtesy of John.

    2. For those who like to experiment with the 4860 package, try the following procedure to modify IntcDAud.inf and igdlh64.inf:

    (a) Insert your audio ID under [Intel.NTAMD64.6.1] in IntcDAud.inf of 6.16. folder. In most cases it's 280B.
    (b) Make sure this ID matches the audio key under KBL specific section in igdlh64.inf.
    (c) Make a duplicate of iSKLD_w7 section and call it iKBLD_w7, change all SKL reference to KBL.
Copy all KBL hardware ID from w10 section and paste under w7 section, changing iKBLD_w10 to iKBLD_w7.
    (e) Run igxpin.exe or setup. Ignore drivers warnings.

    Feedback most welcome.
