How to getSOUNDS to see Alexa device?

I was playing sound through my Alexa bluetooth device on Windows 10 and recently "upgraded" from Win10 to Windows 7 Pro. Alexa announces that it is connected. Alexa's device also shows up in the device list under Devices and Printers. However, it does not show up in SOUNDS, so I cannot change from other speakers or headsets to Alexa (it's not in the list to change to.)

    Suggestions?

Good news. the Windows 7 hardware troubleshooter seems to have solved Alexa's problem However, now I cannot connect to my other bluetooth device, a Taotronics headset.

Did you verify that your device is compatible with 7? As much as we might want to hold on to 7 newer hardware might not be compatible with it especially if there aren't manufacturer's drivers.

Found an odd solution, but it seems to work. During paring, disable the Windows 7 bluetooth adapter and then enable it again. All the searching BT devices will get picked up and registered again properly.
