Have u fixed ur problem?

Search for these symptoms and listen to them..

- U hear fans humming
- U hear low but high pitched whistling sound coming from between PSU and CPU fans
- U hear more then 1 BEEP on system start up

If not try this for any case thats how i sloved mine problem...

- Uninstall Video drivers and install one u got with ur GPU...
- Uninstall Audio drivers and make fresh install...
- Turn of ur computer after installation
- Unplug everything from it ( mouse, keyboard etc etc...)
- Open Computer case and see if theres dust in PSU, CPU and GPU fans...
- Plug everything back and turn on ur computer...

From what i think is that some of ur drivers are not properly installed and some of your devices like, GPU, might not work properly even if Windows 7 is showing everything is OK...

Now i am thinking that my problem is solved by fresh install of drivers and by Power Cycle booting when i was cleaning fans... and it restored everything...

This applies to everything except for windows 7 operating system sounds, such as alerts, or the startup jingle, or when I am playing halflife2/counterstrike the ingame sounds work flawlessly.

A weird thing to mention is that although the ingame sounds work, I can BARELY hear anyone on their microphones talking, i can only make out their speech when I turn my volume way up, resulting in my ears bleeding from the gunshot sounds.

Mp3s, CDs, internet media (such as youtube) all experience the distorted, tinny, underwater sounding sound. I have been in contact with ASUS tech support - they are useless. I have installed the latest Win7 updates, I have the latest drivers for the onboard VIA VT1708S audio chipset, and I have all the latest codecs installed (used the CCCP pack). I have tried using MULTIPLE media players, VLC, winamp, windows media player, etc, all to no avail - which isnt the problem since in game microphone from other users doesnt run through a media player anyway. Ive made sure ANY environmental or EQ settings are disabled JUST incase those are causing an issue.

Ive tried multiple drivers, although I am 99.99999% sure it is NOT a driver issue, as the same issues arise with, or without drivers.

I have tried nearly everything I, and many others on the internet have thought of, and all I can think is that it is some sort of windows 7 software communication issue. Like I said I am in contact with ASUS tech support, but I dont think its any kind of hardware issue, and they treat me like a complete moron telling me to try things that I have already CLEARLY stated to them that I have tried (I told them exactly the driver I had installed, and that I got it directly from their website, and in the response mail I got I was told to install the same driver I had said I had installed..)

This is really, incredibly annoying, and I cannot seem to find any solutions searching the net, I have SCOURED google to no end. Ive come across people having similar issues, but no real answer was ever posted in any of the threads I came across; I guess those people gave up and put a bullet through their heads.

I dont really expect any answers,, but yeah, im hoping.

Okay I found the problem. Right click on the speaker icon on your taskbar. Click "playback devices". Double click on headphones microphones or speakers (whichever is having the problem) and then go to the levels tab. There will be a button labeled balances. Click that and set the second scale to zero. That should take away the fact that you can barely hear them. I finally found out how to fix it. My youtube vids sounded like they were underwater. It was frustrating because I'm in college with a lot of hybrid classes. That means youtube videos and the quality of the audio made it a headache to deal with.

I know this thread is old, but I recently did a computer 'rebuild' and upgraded most of my stuff. I ran into the same issue as the guy who opened this thread. At first the sound in rocksmith would be great, but then it would start to get garbled, tinny and with an echo like it was underwater. The game didn't start that way, it gradually got worse as time went on. Also, if I played a song at first I could hear myself play but the sound of my guitar would fade and all I would hear would be the song (I didn't realize this was happening at first and thought I was really learning to play the guitar like a pro - lol).

Any way, I was able to fix it for myself really simply because my problem was my own simple boneheaded mistake. Right click the sound/speaker icon in the lower right and click playback devices from the popup menu. Right click the speakers or headphone you are using to play sound and select 'default device.' Not having a default playback device set or having another system selected as default really made rocksmith act crazy.

Please note my motherboard has realtek hardware on it and I am using vista 64 bit (yeah, I know. I spent money for a cpu and memory but couldn't afford a good OS and dont want to use a version I downloaded from only God knows where). Hope this helps someone, RS is old now but I still love playing it. Cant wait for the 2014 addition.

Working on an old computer at my internship and came across this problem today, but I also had this on my desktop running Windows 10 at home.

The only thing that fixed the problem for me on both computers / OS's was to uninstall the Sound Card drivers supplied with the card / motherboard / manufacturer. Windows drivers work just fine as far as features and the sound is clean and clear like it should be.

So to do this go to Device Manager select your sound card and Right click and Uninstall Drivers making sure to also check the Delete current drivers check box and let your computer restart.

This was a simple and effective solution for both Windows 7 and 10, and on my desktop on Windows 8.1 I was just using the windows drivers just fine.

I am looking for a 8K-SDI video test signal generator that outputs SDI and HDMI. It should have all the typical 'old' standard multi color bars, cross hatch SMPTE 259M,SMPTE 292M/SMPTE 424/425M and timer etc.
I have QuestTel 3G-SDI Pattern Generator that can handle HDTV NTSC or PAL and 16:9 formats to 720p and 1080p.
While I have been able to find a myriad of stand alone units, which is fine I am looking for recommendations, or stay away from's.
I also would be interested in a USB option if available for true portability (something I can throw in my laptop case).
Any help would be appreciated!

I'm using Win7 Pro 64-bit, updated, and the problem I found that yes some sound were OK and some not but it depended on frequency, voice has a low frequency 0-1 Khz aprox. so after trying the suggestions to no good result, I checked the connector, I remembered that I plugged my new earphones to an audio cable extension, and there it was the problemthe extension was rather old about 4 years, so they didn't come with the modern 4 connections 3 stripes jack, the normal/old ones are 3 connections 2 stripes:
