No sound outside of Audacity
A little over a week ago, I connected some speakers to the PC. After I disconnected them, I notice that my earphones (not headphones) do not pick up any audio except the audio playing in Audacity. Given that I use this program quite regularly, I only just realised again that this problem is present.
I use RealTek HD audio manager, and according to the device manager, the sound plays through the Nvidia graphics card.
Nonetheless, what occurred was that I unwittingly messed something up, so is there any way one can restore normal sound on a PC that is audible through the entirety of Windows, and not just restricted to audio software?
I have the earphones plugged into the green socket on the bottom row of the 6 outlets, and have always had it plugged in to this socket before the PC went mostly silent. There is nothing wrong with the sound card.
If there is any solution to this, it would be great to find out. Sorry if this sounds satirical, but it is so frustrating. I cannot hear any Youtube videos, or in game sounds.
Thanks in advance.
