Sound cracks and pops then switches from usb headset to speakers

Windows 7 on Gigabyte gaming MB with realtek HD audio. Installed iCUE because have Corsair mechanical keyboard. That's when problem started. Uninstalled iCUE problem stayed. Can't roll back with restore as get message 'program stopped access to files' or something close. Gamecom 780 headset but unable to install drivers and associated software as get code 52 for driver. Turned off external speakers power, and it will crack and pop for a second or two then ok, can't switch, so that's a help.

    Hi BlueAngell,
    Welcome to SevenForums!
Have you run sfc /scannow from Administrative CMD?
Have you considered a repair install?

The problem occurs quite often using headset plugged into a usb on Corsair K70 vengeance keyboard. It uses a pass-thru usb cable plugged into the back of my PC. Changing the headset to one of the usb plugs on the front of PC almost fixed the problem. The crackling popping and PC stutter/momentary freezing still occurs but almost never.
