WPD and no Sound under W7-Pro on an HP PC.

It's been almost a year since this started.

I try and search for solutions and soon or later I wind up at a Driver Download Site, which I do not use.

The Initial Windows Sounds play when the PC is turned on.

From that point on, there is no sound at all.

I try playing YouTube stuff, no sound.

I try listening to the News, no sound.

I have tried deleting WPD multiple times from the Device Manager, it keeps coming back.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated

    Best regards,

    Mike Lynch

    Hi Mike Lynch,

    Have you tried the troubleshooter?
Click , and then click Control Panel.
Under System and Security, click Find and fix problems.
    Follow the prompts.

    Also
Have you tried disabling audio driver and then enabling it?
    Right click on My Computer.
    Chose Manage.
Select Device Manager in the left panel.
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Find your audio driver and right click on it.
    Chose Disable.
Right click on the audio driver again.
    Chose Enable

    Do these Snips help?

FYI - Once or twice a year, I plug in my Android Phone to transfer the pictures on it to my PC.

I read the Link however, I am a Novice and it says a lot I am not familiar with.

"Volume" doesn't mean what you think it does.

A volume is an area capable of holding data, or a single accessible data storage area. For example a disk partition is a volume.

What makes you think wpd is connected to any sound issues you may have?

Try checking device manager > show hidden

Here for example are a couple of usb sticks - they are "hidden", because they are not currently connected

I don't see how they have anything to do with system sounds or whatever audio problems you have.

    Accidentally noticed the following:

The sound works fine on other User Desktops, Sign-On's.

    Any clues as to why?
