Control Panel's Sound panel's Sound tab returns the same problem? And believe it or not, I sometimes have to Mute then unMute the Windows speaker in the corner of the taskbar - then sound! Go figure. In that Sound tab, one can test the left and right external and/or internal speakers, can test any particular WAV throughout the long chain of potential noise-makers.

Right click the speaker. Chose Playback devices. Select your speakers and set as default.

If your audio is on board motherboard driven, make sure the codec is on in BIOS/UEFI.

In Device Manager, try Disabling the Intel Display Audio and re-boot the computer - does that get you any sound?

Secondly, click on View > Show Hidden Devices, does the device driver re-appear?

Sorry, did you delete or disable the Intel Display Audio ? I only requested you disable it, but it is not showing any longer (in Device Manager), which could indicate that it was deleted.

Can you confirm if you get High Definition Audio device on re-boot? (Your first image in post #4 shows clearly that High Definition Audio device appears after a re-boot.)

For several years now, I thought our PC was an HP-8300, it's NOT!

I am attaching what MS says it is.

My apologies an 76, the 6 and 8 seem to look alike.

    What can I say!

I decided to double check, sound in all Desktops but mine.
I did and there was NO Sound in any Desktop.
I checked the Device Manager and there were NO Sound Devices present.
I signed off of all Desktops and did a Restart.
As W7-Pro loaded there was the familiar Windows sound.
I tried my Desktop, and there was sound.
I checked the Device Manager and there were two Sound Devices listed.

    Thank you for your guidance.

I am unsure what actually fixed it or what the problem was.
Next, I will run a Restore Point just because.

Did I say, Thank you for your guidance!
    Sound after months of silence.

    Also, Thank you Jesus!
