    if SIW2 instructions fail,

    1) DID you update the Asmedia root hub driver problem
    2) run sfc /scannow
    3) run KB947821

    you can try.
copy and paste what is in the code tags using notepad and save it as a .reg file call it anything you like, for example
    audioendpoint.reg
then double click on it to merge it into your registry. Or rt click it and select merge
I will give that a try. Thanks for the assistance.

Even though I have changed the file's name, I can not seem to get my Notepad file to become a.reg file.
The option to view as such is not available.

    I appreciate your help.

On the contrary, I am very thankful and plus I have not been to the forums as often as I ought to have, and I also failed to notice that in your previous post. Apologies.

I got the.reg to work and merged the settings to my registry thanks to your how-to link, but haven't got audio devices as yet?

Hey! Guess what... all your help has paid off. Merging the .reg file has done the trick.

I want to express my gratitude to SIW2 and Torchwood for their assistance in resolving this annoying pesky audio problem.
To the both of you, your help was much appreciated. For that, I am really grateful. Yes, indeed.
