    no sound after sleep mode

Hello, I have recently installed windows 7 on my laptop and i am having the same problem i had with the beta. Upon start up, the audio works fine but after i close my laptop and it goes into sleep mode, when i come back and open it the audio no longer works. I cant hear anything. I dont know what sound card i have or how to find out. Any help would be greatly appreciated , thanks a bunch !

    Hello, Welcome to the Forums!

Try typing msinfo.exe into the run box and it should show you your specs. Alternatively, you could download Speccy, and it will make things a lot easier.

After you find your sound card, try going to the manufacturer's site and downloading drivers for it. They are usually located in the support section.

    Hope this help,

Hello Jonathan, thanks for your help. Unfortunately under Audio my sound card is listed as High Definition Audio Device. That doesn't really tell much. I just found this post No sound after sleeep. with someone who had the exact same computer as me and the exact same problem so maybe ill try to message them about it.

    --EDIT--
IDT/SigmaTel Audio Driver Version: 6.10.5939.0 Download, extract, run setup it works awesome now . Apparently this is a problem that gateways have ^ ^ !
