onboard sound problem XP

    onboard sound problem XP


    built my son a new pc for crimbo from my old pc parts, its running XP 32bit and the mobo is a saphire PI-A9RX480.
    ive installed the latest realtek drivers, theres no problems in the device manager but in the sound options under sound it says theres no sound devices. pulling my hair out abit now the game he likes he cant play cause it crashes so any advice would be apreciated

    Do you still have the old driver CD from the sound card?

    Or download the old XP drivers.

    i downloaded the drivers from the realtek site, the sound is onboard

    where would i download the old xp drivers from? you think this is software rather than hardware problem?

    Hi

    I am looking at it that the new drivers are for Win7, & will not work on XP.

    May be software or hardware.

    Download from maker site.
