windows 7 microphone problems
hello everyone...
the problem i am having is i am trying to record a small podcast using audacity, and it picks up my headset microphone no problem, the problems though is that audacity is also recording all system sounds too... i want to disable this so it only records my microphone i have tried... updating sound drivers to latest version muting the "stero mix" in the VIA HD control panel and through the system control panel in audacity, setting the recordind device to Microphone VIA HA interesting tidbit... in skype calls, skype only records the mic, not system sounds. so i would say it is a setting somewhere, but i have no idea what it is. also, when i use team speak everyone says they can hear echos through me becaue i hear them talking, and then my systems transmits their voices back to them.,... I am using a gamin headset, so i know it is NOT feedback from the speakers.., in fact, i dont even have speakers hooked up to my rig. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks matt |

Disable the system sounds in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound panel. Click on the Sounds tab and select "no sounds" as the Sound Scheme. Then if there is some system sound it won't interfere. I would also not have other programs running such as IM's, Skype, e-mail, browser, etc while recording. I have a small computer based recording studio, using Sonar, and I have my sound scheme set to "no sounds" and close programs such as what I mentioned when I record.

I would think that you do the same thing as previously mentioned. Disable system sounds.
