Sound doesn't work in Windows 7

    Hi guys,

I'm new here but i had been doing a lot of serch but it seem i can't find anytihng to fix my problem. And thought i don't know much aobut computers.
Well i have laptop aspire 7520 and I just got windows 7 on (i bought it with vista). It worked fine when just before days my sound doesn't work anymore. On sound icon is red cross and it say "no audio input device is installed".
i tried to update sound in Device manager but it's just not there. Only thing i found was system speakers and for that it said there is no driver and i couldn't update those too.
I installed driver from acer site but it just look like it isn't there on my laptop. I'm alredy hopeless

I appriciate any kind of help,

    Welcome!

First, could you have a virus? Please download Malwarebytes free and do a scan.

Also try a System Restore to a point before the problem arose.

    Hope this helps,

Please download Speccy and find your sound card. Perhaps we can find drivers for you.

I don't know. Almost sound like a hardware issue to me. Perhaps something is loose inside your machine, or you have a bad motherboard. Neither of of those are easy to diagnose/fix, so I guess just wait for others to help. I will call the other Gurus to this thread, if you would like.

Hello majcy30, welcome to Seven Forums!

I had an HP machine that would lose sound and I used to fix it by going to Device Manager and uninstalling the sound device, try that to see if Windows 7 will add a driver for it.
