Speaker Static

My speakers make static noise when something loud is played. I don't mean loud like ear bursting loud. This started happening randomly today. It's very annoying when trying to watch a video on youtube. Do you think this is a case of speaker failure or something more serious? I hope it's just my speakers because I can just easily replace them. I don't have an extra pair of speakers to test the sound.

Also, the static doesn't happen all the time. If I don't play anything for a bit and resume a video, it goes back to normal.

Here's what I know so far about the problem:

1. Doesn't happen in XP, only happens in Win 7 x64
2. Can play a loud game like Modern Warfare 2 and no static, but static starts when a youtube video is played
3. Static only occurs when CPU usage is at 50% or more
4. The higher the CPU usage, the louder the static is
5. Problem persists after a clean install

I just checked the website for your computer and they have no drivers for Win7.
Did you check with the MS Advisor to see if your system would properly run under Win7 64bit?

You still using the onboard audio? Realtech version 6.0.1.5436 ? 12/11/2008?
Maybe try installing the vister version.

I did check a while ago and everything was satisfactory. I've been running Win 7 x64 for months now without any speaker problems which strikes me odd. I'll try the sound on XP and report back.

Well, I can't replicate the problem on XP. It could be a Windows 7 problem. Like I said earlier, the static is random.

Edit: Getting the static now on Win 7. I have the latest audio drivers.

Are you running an MP3 file or a CD for music or what?
