    no driver found

i have recently installed windows 7 and device manager says that all my drivers are up-to-date but i don't have any sound. i had the same problem, with windows vista 3 years ago, but i managed to get soundmax back in that time. now all drivers i find are not compatible with my version of windows. can anyone help me? i'm tired of this silence

    Welcome!

Try running Speccy and finding out what your card is. Then we can look for the drivers online.

If you had trouble finding drivers in Vista for this machine, you will have an even harder time finding them for 7. You may need to buy a newer card.

Thanks. Could you please post what Speccy reports for your sound card?

    Thanks,

Hmm... That's not very helpful, is it?

    Try updating you chipset drivers.

cound it be because i have recently installed a soundmax version, and now i'm trying to overwrite with a new one?i have uninstalled that version, because my microphone wasn't working, but it keeps appearing in the control panel list of installed programs, even after i deleted all its files from program files in safe mode...

Go into device manager, goto your sound tab and uninstall your current driver, then let windows locate and install the driver... then right click on your speaker icon and select playback devices and make sure that you have selected speakers... for some reason windows 7 selects headphones by default... let us know how it comes out....
