    Microphone Does not work

    Hi,

I can not get my Mic to work with win 7 - have done all the usual (e.g. update drivers, make sure settings are correct and enabled correctly, checked the mic with other Vista and XP computers, etc.)

I've tried the built in motherboard sound as well as other sound devices (e.g. M-audio Delta 1010, Creative X-fi (PCI and USB) and Diamond).

All indications are that every thing is working OK but no sound is recorded in any of my sound recording programs.

On rare occasions there is sound at a very very low volume but the next time I try there will be no sound at all.

All play back functions work correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

P.S. I have a stock Gateway DX4200-09 (64-Bit) Computer with an AMD 9100e Quad Core CPU.

By enabled correctly, have you checked the Sound/Recording panel in the Control Panel? Make sure whatever sound card you are using and the mic for that card is selected. With multiple sound cards enabled on a system it can also get tricky as only one card can be default for any function.

Is that Delta 1010 working OK in Win 7? I see posts about problems with that in Win7 on the Sonar forum.
