Have just installed one of these cards in an old Athlon powered PC running Windows 7.

I downloaded the latest drivers as above and the device is showing OK in Device Manager.

However Windows does not appear to think that there is a sound device present, and I cannot see the C-Media control panel anywhere.

Where can I 'find' this please, as I am hoping it will help!

    Thanks.

    I need Help.
My Motherboard audio blew up , a week ago and today i went to a Engineer to put another Audio/Sound card in.
It's C-Media CMI8738 and since it's installed my PC crashes constantly by itself. I reset it afterwards but it "crashes" on the windows 7 Loading Screen (you know the 4 circles connecting) and i have to restart it again , after several times it fixes itself.Any ideas what might cause this issue?

I have the same card (PCI version) with logitech z506 speakers and had trouble getting sound out of the surround speakers. I eventually solved it by plugging the black cable into the blue plug and the orange cable into the black plug. Now I have 5.1 sound. Work that one out!
