Windows 7: Cannot Get "What U Hear" Working.

Nothing that I can think of that those would affect the What You Hear.

Okay, I've managed to kludge it together by running a lead from my mic socket to my speaker's headphone socket. I tried this before but was getting a horrible distortion, which I think I have now fixed.

However, this is far from ideal, as I cannot head the sound from the speakers and record it at the same time. if I brought a jack splitter, plugged my speakers in one end and plugged the other 2 ends in my line in and line out sockets, would that work?

I doubt that it will be of any help, but I have an older Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, and What You Hear wouldn't work, until I installed the latest Daniel K drivers for my card. As far as I know, he doesn't offer them for X-Fi, but then I never looked for them either.

Yes, there are drivers from Daniel K, for the X-Fi. I installed these last night
However
When using those drivers, there is no option at all for "What U Hear". I had to install Creative's drivers again to get it back.

Hmm, that's odd, because Daniel_K's drivers are Creative's...at least for the Audigy cards. Again, I don't know how it might apply to your card, but for me to get What U Hear on my card, I have to set MediaSource player to it.

I've looked into it, and my soundcard doesn't look anything like the ones on Creative's website.
For a start, it has more sockets than the XtremeGamer (which is was I was told it was, by the tosspot on eBay who sold it to me). It's also black, and about the size of the Titanium. However, the board strip that you plug into the motherboard is a lot longer (it has to use a PCIE 16x slot).

Edit: It has Creative written on the label, and on a couple of the chips, so it's definitely a Creative product, I just don't know the model, or even if it's an obscure model that's obsolete. Hell, I don't even know if it's supposed to work with What U Hear!

Edit 2: I looked on eBay again, and there are other people selling the exact same model of card as mine (SB0770), and listing it as the XtremeGamer, so it's definitely the right model.

I've never really understood, but there is a difference of some kind between cards on the Creative, and those found on the Sound Blaster website. I've been trying to find your card, but I can't find one that is PCIe...only PCI. Does this look like your card?

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series Sound Card

Every PCIe card that I know about, only has the short contact strip, so that it will fit into a x1 PCIe slot.

Nope, not even close
Forgive the eBay link, but this is the only place I've found it.
The only way I've been able to get recording to work is basically to use the Line-In method that nearly all other sound cards use, bypassing What U Hear entirely.

I have not compared in detail, but just giving it a quick once over, I don't see the difference. Even that eBay ad says that it is PCI, not PCIe.

Hmmm, well maybe it's PCI.
I am only going by what I remember, but I think I put it in a PCIe slot.
Nevertheless, that is definitely the model I have. The one you listed has different sockets on it, a different layount, and it says "X-Fi" on the product itself, which mine doesn't.

Is mine and older/outdated model? Could that be why What U Hear doesn't work?
