Realtek ALC883 - recording issue
Hey all,
Relatively a newbie with Win 7, much preferring from Vista though, but I have an odd problem, I did do a search and see a few people had the same issue, but not quite the same as my issue. I have an Asus P5K-PRO board with onboard sound (Realtek ALC883). I have installed the drivers from the Asus site, mainly because of the fact I couldn't hear anything coming through the line in socket.
My issue is that when I record via the line-in socket, it would record as mono. Oddly, this is present in Adobe Audition but not in Sony Soundforge (which does actually capture stereo channels). I'm putting a record deck in via a pre-amp into the line-in.
But then another issue. I run an online radio show, which I keep a backup of as the show streams. When I checked the stream backup yesterday that was in mono too!! I'm not sure if the show streamed in mono, no one mentioned it to be honest. When I say mono it's one channel only, not sure if it's left or right.
I will mention that when I'm listening through headphones I can hear everything in stereo, it's once it's been captured on the PC it becomes mono.
Am I missing a setting in Win 7 or could it be drivers? This is darn frustrating as I want to be able to use Audition and have stereo radio show stream backups!
Thanks in advance, hopefully someone has the answer.
Hyperjase :)
