    Taskbar volume icon problem

Hi everyone. I had my new desktop with Windows 7 Home 64bit for about 2 weeks now and so far im loving it. The one and only problem im having is the volume icon in the taskbar. I know its been posted several times before (i searched) but non of the solutions fixed my problem.

Sometimes when my Windows boots up, the volume icon is missing from the taskbar. I take a look in "turn system icons on or off" and the Volume, Network and Action Center are greyed out (cant click them.) It does this once every 2 or 3 reboots. The only way to fix it is to reboot. Its not a huge problem but its very annoying having to reboot 2 times.

Any ideas or solutions for my problem?

Hello IonicRipper, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The next time that it happens, see if METHOD TWO in the tutorial below may be able to help.

System Icons - Enable or Disable

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Um, ok. Double check the items in the yellow TIP box in the tutorial to see if any of those may a issue. Also uninstall and reinstall your audio drivers to see if that may help.

I reinstalled my audio driver... Didint work, volume icon not showing up on 2nd reboot. Only thing that changed is the action center that is showing in the taskbar. volume and network is still greyed out in the system icons properties.

Since you tried all of the usually options to fix this above, create a new adminstrator account as a test to see if it works ok in it.
