    Win7 makes nasty enoying sounds

    No i'm not joking
I think I've changed somewhat on my configuration but can not find it back.

On every disk access a disk(vribation) sound is created. and a high pitch if it is continious access....

Searching for a disk in trouble, I found I could kill the problem muting the speaker
Where does the sound come from ???
Any idea how to get down to the right setting.

    I'm using standard win 7

Does it not come from the speakers when you mute the PC?

Once I had my Ethernet, audio, and power cables all tangled and was having that same issue. I went back behind my desk one day and straightened up all the cables. I haven't heard any noises like that since.
