Weird new audio problems running Windows 7

I've been running Windows 7 for close to a month now and it's been running flawlessly except until now.

I've been having audio play back problems either from Windows Media Player or on Youtube. The sounds become slurry, distorted, laggy every few seconds. I don't quite understand what's causing the problem.

I closed bit-comet and it seems to have no problem now.

However if I'm using any browser it has the same problem, e.g. when i click on a link and it goes to a new page or opening the browser. Pretty much surfing seems to lag/distort any audio being played.

I don't have the problem with other windows applications like browsing through folders or opening/closing them.

    Any ideas?

This is actually a noted problem since back in the days of Vista - I'd suggest looking up drivers for both your network 'cards' as well as your audio hardware and see if there is anything out there newer than the drivers you have installed currently....

Also, if you update your system specs to the left, then we'd be able to give you more poignant advice as we'd know what hardware you're running...and what build

Well it was working fine for nearly 1 month with no driver changes. I'm not quite sure how I can find out what my sound card is.
