Another stereo mix issue

Hi,
I'm trying to activate stereo mix on my computer but can't see it in my list of recording devices. I've enabled disconnected and disabled devices and have updated the drivers on my recording device. Unfortunately I'm terrible with hardware.

According to my device manager, I'm currently using an ATI high definition audio device. Might not be too helpful, that. The packaging claims it's a USB headset with mic, HS-301E USB

Could anyone offer any insight, please? It's really quite frustrating...

More system info is needed. What motherboard (or PC Model) and what audio other than the ATI high definition audio device. I would associate the ATI with an HDMI audio output from the Video card??

Most motherboards, that have the Integrated Audio (on the motherboard audio chip) have SigmaTel (IDT) or RealTek. There are a few others but mostly the SigmaTel/IDT or RealTek.

The USB headset has nothing to do with the System Mixer or directly with the sound module operations.

Man, have I been trying to update the wrong drivers?
My card is an ATI Radeon 5800. Motherboard is a ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A78-EM Rev X.0x apparently.

Ugh. I built this thing myself, I ought to know these things. I'll see if I can't get some updated drivers for those. Thanks for the feedback. Very much appreciated.

Sorry, I've had a look at all my drivers, I'm up to date now on everything but my network adapter (according to DriverMax) but still no joy.
Is there anything else I could try?

Thanks.

Help with stereo mix?
Yes, I have shown disabled and disconnected devices; in fact stereo mix appears fine. The problem is, to use it, I have to set it to default device, and when I do, my microphone becomes "currently unavailable." If I want to use the mic, I set it to default device, and... stereo mix is ...
