    How to get my headset working, mike isnt working


    So my nephew is trying to play this game and wants to play using the headset so he can be able to talk while he is playing. Problom is we can hear sound from headset but mike isnt working. The computer im using is Emachines ET1331G Windows 7. If i can get a totorial on how to get this stuff working i would really appriciate it.

    Yes, you need to enter the default recording device (microphone) in Control Panels sound applet. It's that easy!

    I did that, and no luck... I tried using the mic input on the front of my tower and the rear and cant here anything comin out of my speakers/ ear phone. any ideas??

    gonna need some more info in your syste specs, specifically your sound card manufacturor,

    i suspect the problem is with your sound card drivers, if you can fill out the specs we can provide a link to the right drivers

    My CPU appears to have realtek HD audio driver.

    I right kliked into this progam that is by the clock on the task tray. I kliked into sound manager and kliked on the "microphone" tab and recording volume was at 100% and playback volume was at 25% while the playback was muted!! These settings seem to be default since i have not touched these

    i did unmute it alreay... still the same. Im gonna have to try another headset. Other than that, any more ideas??

    just one, see if there is an updated driver for your model by checking this link: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version otherwise if changing the headset doesnt work im all out, sorry

    I weent to the link and kliked on the link that they provide and i downloaded the file for vista/windows 7 and this seems to complicated for me since i dont know what to klik on. Besides that i am scared to mess things up lol

    I disagree with the previous poster... you should not go to Realteks website unless you cannot find the correct drivers at eMachines website. Here is eMachines support drivers download site...

    Also it appears that both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of this driver are the same file!
