I use AmpliTube as a virtual guitar amp on my laptop.
When I still on Windows XP, I can use AmpliTube, Guitar Pro, Windows Media Player all at the same time.
After upgrading to Windows 7, I can't even use WMP and AmpliTube at the same time.
WMP keeps showing "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." until I close AmpliTube.

How can I fix this ?
I really need to use AmpliTube togehter with a few other programs

Thanks :)
Try this...

Right click on the Microsoft Speaker icon in the system tray.
Select "Playback Devices".
Select "Speakers" (or whatever your default playback device is)
Select the properties button at the bottom right then select the advanced tab.
De-select both of the options available.

-Don't know if this will work, seems like it might help.

While your in properties, might want to disable all of the enhancements.

Thanks for the suggestion. In my case: brandnew HP ProBook 4720s, Windows 7 professional 64 bit.
I installed WinAmp 5.6.2. Would not produce sound: it reads MP3s and shows in the spectrum view that it can read the file .. for a fraction of a second, yet doesn't produce sound and immediately stops.
I tried the native MediaPlayer, which would result in the statement that it cannot play the file because an error occurred.
I tried iTunes. No sound.
I tried VLC Media Player. This one would "playback" the file, in that it would show in the spectrum visualisation that it reads the files, yet wouldn' produce sound.

So, I followed the above suggestions. Simply upon opening the last advanced properties window ... sound appeared, without even changing any settings ...

I don't bother to figure out why that is. Maybe it's useful for someone else too ;-)

Windows 8.1 Pro 66 bit

Try "O Deus ASIO Link"
- Install ASIO Link
- Open your sound procesing software (Amplitube) and choose the "Link (ASIO)" driver
- Open ASIO Link and choose your HW ASIO driver
- In ASIO Link click in the channel maps to achieve the desired mapping/mixing between your HW ASIO driver and the WDM driver (see attached image)

Same old UAC dialogues, each time certain programs run
Every time I run certain programs (e.g Winamp or Ext2FSD), Windows asks if I don't mind the program making changes to my harddisk. Of course, this has rapidly become very irksome. Most firewall software, indeed most software generally, at least have an option to save my response and refer to it in...
