Using Some Audio Programs At The Same Time

My notebook is Acer Aspire 4736, with Realtek audio, and ASIO4ALL driver.

I use AmpliTube as a virtual guitar amp on my laptop.
When I still on Windows XP, I can use AmpliTube, Guitar Pro, Windows Media Player all at the same time.
After upgrading to Windows 7, I can't even use WMP and AmpliTube at the same time.
WMP keeps showing "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." until I close AmpliTube.

How can I fix this ?
I really need to use AmpliTube togehter with a few other programs

Try this...

Right click on the Microsoft Speaker icon in the system tray.
Select "Playback Devices".
Select "Speakers" (or whatever your default playback device is)
Select the properties button at the bottom right then select the advanced tab.
De-select both of the options available.

-Don't know if this will work, seems like it might help.

While your in properties, might want to disable all of the enhancements.

I've tried disabling the exclusive mode and disabling all of the enhancements.
It still doesn't work

No problem, Windows-7 audio can be such a pain sometimes...
Have you also removed the exclusive mode for the Default Input? (recording devices) Also, since the exclusive mode is not global, I wonder if it would be a good idea to de-select it for all devices both playback and recording.

Are you using the stand-alone version of Amplitude, does it also ship as a VST plugin? Is Amplitude the one that has the Fender amp emulation?

I imagine you're using the ASIO4All in Amplitude as the low-latency driver, is it a different version of ASIO4All betwenn WinXP and Win7?

Yes, I've also tried de-select exclusive mode on recording, microphone, digital input, etc.

I'm using stand-alone version, but sometimes also use it as VST in Adobe Audition.
It's AmpliTube Metal, not the Fender amp emulations.

Yes, it reduces the latency significantly.
It's the same version with XP, ASIO4ALL 2.10 beta 1

I have the Realtek audio on board my desktop, I'll try ASIO4All tonight and see how I fare with multiple programs. Don't have Amplitube but do have the standalone versions of Korg's M1 and Wavestation virtual instruments.

I've used ASIO4All before, great little driver.

The bad news is... Win-7 or ASIO4All is tying up Direct Sound when it creates the ASIO interface.

I can play multiple audio files using Winamp and Windows Media Player but as soon as ASIO4All is opened Direct Sound is locked.

Might want to drop the author of ASIO4All a note.

Maybe I'll stop using AmpliTube and start using a real amp now

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I have one more question.

If I buy a new soundcard that doesn't use Asio4All for the driver, will it solve the problem ?
