    Microphone delay on Windows 7

I purchased an HP p6340f with a Realtek integrated soundcard. I use the system for online Karaoke and the soundcard was working poorly. I upgraded to a Creative PCI Express Extreme Audio SoundBlaster card and have been experiencing a .5 sec delay on voice to speaker, even when I am off line...impossible to sing to.
I understand through other forums that this is a big issue on upgraded soundcards especially SB and Window 7.
Has anyone found a fix for this?

    - have you disabled the Realtek audio via your BIOS settings..?

I disabled onboard audio in the setup utility, that made no difference, then I uninstalled everything, enabled the on board again, and the problem carried over to the Realtek. I tried installing Windows XP, but that has caused other issues. Trying to get back to Factory image now and Boot menu will not recognize that partition.
