I have sound until I run an application, I dont know how important it is that the ones ive been testing are games that are a wee bit old e.g. aliens vs predator gold edition, american mcghees alice, bridge commander etc.

I got max payne working with patches but now it dosnt work. can anyone help me further?

This may not be true on all machines, but on some you need a separate driver for HDMI Audio. For example on ASRock ION machines you install the VIA audio driver first then there's a second driver to activate HDMI audio...

Have you checked the Samsung website?

Hmmm maybe, I honestly wouldnt know where to start looking for those drivers. Checked the samsung site, no tech support for windows 7, i have the vista drivers installed just now.

I should prob mention I installed civ IV and the new colonization and it does the same thing so its not just old games

Check your playback device is set to HDMI as the default. Also, 1 device can be muted while another still plays sound. Some of my appz auto-change the device. I'm an audiophile and totally disappointed by the limitations and bugs with audio support on 7.

    Hope it worx!

Yeah I have the latest Nvidia drivers.

Ive got the TV as the default device and the speakers on the laptop muted but still the same problem. If I make the laptop speakers the default I can get sound with my games. Its very strange that it does it on all programs except for itunes and media player.

I have the same problem but im using a DVI to HDMI adaptor , so no sound this way. I also use a separate stereo cable for audio. It was working fine untill someday when the sound was gone. I have a Acer 7520G laptop and a Sony tv kdl32w4000. When i use a diferent computer with the tv everything is fine , i have sound. When i connect my laptop to the tv the sound works only for 1 second until the image comes on. So i think maybe the laptop sends some kind of MUTE signal or something, i dont know. I have the latest drivers for video card (8600M GT)197.14 and Realtek audio driver ver.6.0.1.5832 .
Does anybody know how to fix this?
