No sound over HDMI from pc to tv galaxy gf 8800 gt

    Dear users.

I have plugged hdmi cable from pc to tv and picture is fine.
In nvidia control panel there is a setup digital audio option
it detects my vga caed and i can select sound turn off or LG tv.
so there is a bright spot at the end of the tunnel.

In sound/playback only speaker and spdif out appears.
i have checked disabled and disconnected devices.
i connected the mobo with the jumper jp2
is is supposed to be the vga spdif connector according to this picture:

the mobo layout of spdif out is clear so i could not made it wrong.
but as for the vga there is a catch here since i do not know the order of cables on the vga to connect.
and i am not even 100% sure that the jp2 is what i think to be.

i have installed latest mobo sound driver and nvidia driver as well.

i was hoping that the hdmi sound output would appear in the sound/playback but id did not no matter i connected the crossover spdif cable one way or the other.

thats how far i managed to get. Any ideas please?

Ps: sorry for my bad English i am not a native. And this is also my first thread on any forums. Thank you

Go to control panel and then choose sound. When in sound you need to change the default audio from your PC to the TV. When you want to turn it back you do the opposite.

Make sure both show disabled devices and disconnect devices are checked.

if i go to control panel and then to sound only spif interface and speakers appear.
tv only appears in nvidia control panel and i select it and then do apply and then nothing happens.

Try removing the cable and then inserting it again, and when you go into sound see if there is anyway you can search for the HDMI cable.

I had a similar problem and you had to do something to get the tv recognised in sound but I cannot remember what.

If you have headphones plugged in remove them as well.

Your using the HDMI slot in your graphics card, so I would recommend that you disable the device then re-enable it, and also make sure the drivers are up to date.

go into the device manager in control panel and try disabling the graphics card and see if the TV appears
