on-board Realtek HD random cutoffs x64 (Possible Fix!)

Sorry if this thread is not allowed or has already been posted, but I had this problem and couldn't find a fix and just found out this fixed it for me.

This is a possible fix (Worked for myself) for people who are getting random cutoffs after taking their headphones out of the front panel jacks and using their speakers.

Note: This'll probably only work if your Sound Manager kept "Reloading Audio Devices"

First go to your audio manager and click the little folder icon:


Then tick "Disable front panel jack detection":

You're the only one that's posted a similar experience to the one I had, that's why I came to this board a few months ago.

My situation was compounded (or caused by) the jacks themselves either being oxidized or dirty as I would get the reloading problem with just my speakers plugged in. I used a De-Ox spray solution to clean all the jacks which stopped the speaker only reloading, I then disabled the front panel jack detection and disabled the popup dialog. No problems since.

I remember thinking a couple of responses to my post were like.... "uhhhh... sure, whatever you say".

Good to see at least one other person with a similar problem. (fixed of course)

It's quite an annoying problem it started to drive me mad and then I noticed that the front green jack was coming on and off when the sound cut off so I thought of disabling the front panel jack detection.

hi, i just installed Windows 7 and i couldn't find the Audio HD Manager which i loved having in Windows XP, i couldn't install the driver from the cd so i downloaded the newest one but still Audio Manager is nowhere to be found. what can i do? pls help me :P

Did you get the right one for your motherboard? If not, get it.

If they don't make the drivers for certain motherboards, I have no idea.. Sorry

You have to install it twice, the first one removes the old driver, the second one performs the new driver install. You do have the correct drivers. You have Realtek audio hardware?
