    Media Player Classic - Home Cinema - Video Player

    Free ... All codecs are internal... very easy setup... no WMP screwiness at all.

    I use it on my system and have WMP and Media Center disabled.

    I installed the Shark007 codecs.

    Shark007's FREE Codec solutions - Windows 7 codecs


    I like the looks of MPC-HC though.. self contained codecs, thanks for the link.

    Yep... been using it since it grew out of the old Media Player Classic project by Gabest... The latest version will play anything you throw at it... including FLAC and MKV... And as these things go, it does quite well.
