Problem with Realtek HD under Windows 7

    Hi,
I recently bought a new HP Elite 7000.
I hear noise when I listen to music using Winamp or while I compose some music using Fruity Loops 9, but the sound is so pure when I use Windows Media Player.
The sound card's driver is already installed. (Realtek HD codec ALC888S, audio 3D compatible AC'97 Rev. 2.3)
I'm running Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bits. Any one can help me please

What kind of noise? You can always check for updated drivers via the realtek website:

Can you take a screenshot of your audio setting.

When listening to music using Winamp or composing with FL Studio I hear "tic tic" noise.
For Crispy, I uninstalled my sound card driver (Windows 7 detected it and installed it) the sound is higher than before, but the problem with the noise still exists

And you don't have the noise in Windows Media Player... correct?

Just for kicks, try using some different players and see if your problems persist... this may just be a problem with Winamp, as playback is fine with WMP....

    Try this:

I use Classic Winanp (2.95). Not sure if the newer versions offer the option of selecting between audio drivers.

In the version I'm using I can select between "Direct Sound" output and/or "WaveOut" output. Switch btween the two and see if one of them stops the ticking sound.
