If your TV has an RGB port then use that for your video connection as that is how it wants your video signal, I use a DVI to RGB converter that came with my ATI 4870 and a second came with the 5870. If your video card is capable of pass through audio then hook the HDMI to the TV HDMI port as Audio only and this should resolve your problem, if not use the Audio out port on you PC to the TV Audio in port that is how my 37" Vizio takes my audio.

It has, but the idea is that I don't want to have several cables attached.... Moreover, it should work with HDMI!! I'm sure it is the nvidia drivers... the idea is I can't really install anything else except sony drivers (without issues)... and as I already said, there lots of vaio users that have exactly the same problem.

    Well… I have some news…

Yesterday… I decided to update for last time the nvidia drivers… I went to the device manager.. pushed update drivers… select from list..and just picked from list nvidia drivers (8.16.11.8681)… it updated…no issues… I was very surprised!

When I connected the laptop to tv…NO ISSUES AT ALL!!! GREAT PICTURE (that was not an issue)…. GREAT SOUND!! (no sound at all before)…. I enjoyed NBA Playoffs J

However…. when I turned it off…and on today in the morning… I had again issue with the drivers as before…. low resolution and yellow sign next to the intel chipset.

so the problem is the nvidia graphic card…..

Now…I can’t find the appropriate drivers to solve the problem… trying all kind of versions (always using Mobility Modder.NET Nvidia to edit the .inf files since it won’t install the way there are)…

Really would appreciate some practical help….maybe a link to drivers that were tested and working with my laptop and graphic card? (GeForce 9300M GS)

Have you updated the Chipset Drivers?

You said on the last page that you have two cards, Intel and NVIDIA, but on the support page it only mentions NVIDIA?

Try downloading the inf from laptopvideo2go.

See the link above. Are you uninstalling the drivers and rebooting before trying to install new ones?

I always restart after uninstalling the drivers...moreover...few times I've tried to remove all the drivers "remaninings" in safe mode with a software...

I also downloaded modified drivers from the suggested links...several different version. Result is usually the drivers install, but then at the same time the computer switches to stamina mode (not physically the button, only the light).... and in effect it uses the intel chipset... or it won't install the drivers at all saying that encountered a problem.

Regarding the two graphic cards...what I mean is that the second one is the on-board one...intel chipset 4 express (if I'm correct).

I had suggestions to install nvidia HDMI audio drivers...well I found a folder in NVIDIA folder...however after starting the installation process, it says that devices to match the drivers do not exist (not sure whether those drivers have to be modified as well).
