Microsoft MVP

Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8

It is muted somewhere. Right click where you see the green leveler > Properties > Levels. Or just click on the speaker icon and see whether the volume is on. Check also in the Realtek Audio Manager.

Set your speakers as the Default Audio device.

Right click the Microsoft speaker incon in the taskbar, select Playback Devices, select "Speaker" and then click on "Set Default".

Select Configure and make sure your system is set to Stereo.

Speakers will be plugged in the light green audio jack in the back. For a few people... it seems to be the black audio jack but that probably because they don't have their system configured correctly.
