No Sound, drivers installed fine

    Same place where you see Speakers as the Default Playback Device. Select speakers and then use the "configure" button.

    And your speakers are plugged into which color output jack?
    Stereo is "light green" but for a few it seems to be black.

    Also, you didn't by any chance disable some "services" recently.

    I have been looking through the services trying to enable my Homegroup Listener but again to no avail, Windows Audio Service is running ok and the same with endpoint builder. what other services are vital for sound.

    This is set to Auto since there are only Disabled and Auto options.

    Yes but the system restore failed...twice

    Yes about that it couldn't retrive the saved registry from the system restore point
