Ashampoo & Windows 7

Need some help figuring this out please. i am using Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 to burn, copy cd's. when i copy an original cd to a cd-r the audio remains the same and i have no problems. when i create a new cd-r from music files downloaded to my computer (mp3)the sound is VERY LOW. i can hear it, but i have to turn the volume up almost all the way for it to sound just a tad bit louder.

i have adjusted the volume setting to the max while recording, i have checked on 'normalize tracks'. i just downloaded wav and flac codecs but dont know much about that or if installing them would help or hurt?

also, i have the latest updated drivers for Realtek HD audio and video. this is a new netbook (Asus Eee PC 1201N, running a Windows 7 OS). also, i have gone to the ashampoo website but they have no support for this problem.

lastly, on a side note... early on i had problems hearing audio on my netbook when i would go to websites like youtube or any time i would try to look at streaming video on the web. i would see the video, but couldn't hear anything. i then went to realtek properties and changed the sound option from 'none' to 'room' and it fixed the problem. the equalizer is still set to 'none' so my next question is does anyone know what the optimal settings for the realtek hd are? is there some sort of guide for this?

I haven't used my Ashampoo in months but I think I recall having the exact same problem and couldn't figure it out either.

hi thanks for trying to help. i have no idea how to post the configuration screen but i can tell you it's not fancy at all. once you're about to burn there is an option for normalizing tracks and to add a 2s pause between tracks...that's about it. it detects writing speed and burns on the fly automatically.

the problem is that this is a new netbook and it also has windows 7 (which is new to me too). so i didn't know if the problem stems from ashampoo itself, the netbook, or something in windows 7. i researched all over the net and also emailed ashampoo support. the things i found were this in case it helps anyone else out...

in ashampoo.... DISABLE/UNCHECK 'normalize all tracks'. if you have realtek hd audio (which i do), then go to the sound manager properties and in the communications tab CHECK 'do nothing'. also, if you have SRS surround, i adjusted the last two levels which i believe are called focus level and something else and i raised those to the max. i just did all these changes and will rip the same music to a cdr again and post results. but so far, these are the adjustments i have made by searching the net. and like i said its a new netbook, but i still checked for the latest audio drivers from both windows 7 and asus (my netbook manufacturer) and i made sure those were up to date. will post results of new cdr. thanks.

well, i tested all the same audio files and burned them using the program. did all the above and i think the trick was also making sure i did not choose 'normalize tracks'. sounds like it should again. no problems with audio output. hope it helps someone else.
