    Have you re-installed the driver?

I have the same problem except on a different computer but i also have the IDT high def audio codec, and have not yet found a way to fix it, i will subscribe to this thread and if i find a way i will let you know.
I have been told however i may need to do a clean reinstall of Windows 7 and reinstall all my drivers from scratch but i would prefer to find a solution that does not require me losing all my files.

Just a little update, i went into services and right clicked on Windows Audio to see if it was running it was not, so i clicked start and got an error: Windows could not start the windows audio service on local computer
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

FIXED: checked dependencies and checked to make sure both dependencies were enabled, 1 was not the Multimedia Class Scheduler, this is possibly one of the services i disabled during optimization however it is necessary for the IDT audio codec to work obviously. So check your dependencies are all working and let me know if that fixes it =D. Rep if it does plz
